Pc Side Fan Intake Or Exhaust
I would think that the number of intake fans should be more than the number of exhaust fans like you said.
Pc side fan intake or exhaust. By changing the direction a fan is mounted it can act as either an intake or exhaust. You will also be able to identify the exhaust side as you will see power wires entering the fan motor. The case fans should intake on the front. Like was mentioned you want to use physics to your advantage here.
The intake exhaust direction should go front to back and bottom to top. Side mounted fans can be intake or exhaust depending on the setup. The top fan is an exhaust and bottom fan is an intake. Use proper fan positioning.
Sure they will create turbulence because the fans would be configured perpendicular to each other but they wouldn t be fighting each other. Manage your cables and other obstructions. Then you should have an exhaust fan there to help move the hot air out faster. Air travels one way through a fan in one side and out the other.
I build pcs and the side fan s should always be intake top and rear always exhaust front and any optional bottom fans intake. Also flashing multi color lights shouldn t be the main feature of your case fans. Generally it s best to have as few obstacles as possible between the intake fans on the front of the case and the exhaust fans on the rear and top of the case. The gpu fan is blowing air on the radiators to get the heat away from the gpu and fans on the side configured as intake would supply cool air to those fans.
To avoid making your computer too loud use fewer or quieter fans. Additionally if your side fan is an exhaust you will be likely to generate a negative enclosure pressure and more likely to ingest dust into the system. If you look at coolermasters website coolermaster themselves recommend the side fan as intake hence the illustration half way down the page. However at the same time keeping the side panel open exposes the pc to new problems such as an increase in dust settling on hardware.
The rear or exhaust side the side that the air comes out of of our fans will always be the side that houses the fan motor. The side with the guard motor support lastly the fan airflow can be identified by the arrow markings on the fan. The rear and top fans being the highest fans in the case heat will naturally gravitate to them. Since i have a liquid cooler they only put in one 120mm top fan because that is all that would fit.
120mm side fan over the cpu intake or exaust.
